Here's another way to build a line parallel to given point and line:
Needed analogue tools:
Dividers
Pencil
Straight Edge
Eraser
Given:
Line A-B
Point C
Desired:
Line D-E
Place a Point, d, conveniently on Line A-B.
Draw an arc with d-C radius, centered at d. Make sure it instersects Line A-B.
Mark that intersection as e.
Draw another arc (d-C radius), centered at Point C.
Using Point d as a center, construct an arc with a radius of e-C.
Arc 4 and 5 intersect eachother. Mark that as Point h.
Connect Point C and h to complete the Desired Line D-E.
Thus, you construct a Line (D-E) parallel to a given Line (A-B) and through a given Point (C).
